I'm also getting more and more into 3D art. I started with Daz 3D. Free program to start and you can add on features you want. Eventually it builds up to something like Poser, only easier to figure out XD. My boyfriend then got me Poser Pro for various anniversaries and such. I LOVE it. I play around almost non-stop. I've also been looking into tutorials on youtube to find out how to do some things. Like add hair. Hair is probably the single most complicated thing -.- But fun ^^ I found myself wanting to make some anime characters, but I can't on poser unless i have an anime base model...which, for me, defeats the purpose. I almost feel like I'm cheating, in a way.
So I started looking into more powerful 3D graphics software. I immediately wanted 3d Max Studio. But the price! DX It was ON SALE for $3,000. Yeah...Not happening. So I then went to a cheaper source. That's right. Ebay. I started browsing and the cheapest 3D Max Studio I could find (up to date) was about $1,000. Again, noooo...Found versions3-6 for cheaper, but then I spotted something interesting.
It's called 3D Modeling/ Render Animate Software Suite. It says you can do just about anything Maya or 3D Max can do without the high price. Of course I'm skeptical. I mean...the thing is less than $10! It says on the Ebay page that it's fully licensed, comes with tutorial DVDs (yay for no looking up!), and they say it's Maya compatible. Think I'll get it and see what it can do. Might as well for less than $10, right? If this works the way I want it to, I'll be soooo estatic ^^ I'll finally be able to design what I want without having to buy a huge program for thousands or many programs!
